Kishio Suga for the 57th Venice Biennale has recreated one of his most important early works: Law of Situation (1971/2017). Eleven stones appears to be floating on the water’s surface in the Gaggiandre, when in reality they are placed on a sheet of woven glass fiber. A reminder of the contrasting interdependence between natural and industrial materials, a recurring theme in his artistic research.
